2025Legendary Formula 1 Drivers – Tazio Nuvolari - Set

Tazio Nuvolari, born in Castel d'Ario on 16 November 1892, is celebrated as one of the greatest racing drivers of all time. Nuvolari began his competitive career in motorcycle racing in 1920, going on to win the Italian national championship in the 500 cc category in 1924 and 1926. In 1925, he became European champion in the 350 cc category. With those titles under his belt, he founded his own team, Scuderia Nuvolari, and turned his attention to cars. In 1930, he claimed his first major automobile race win in the Mille Miglia. He then joined Alfa Corse, the official racing team owned by Alfa Romeo, with whom he took the European drivers’ championship in 1932. After Alfa Corse abandoned the competition, Nuvolari signed for Scuderia Ferrari and promptly won the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1933. He died in 1953 after suffering a stroke. In accordance with his last wishes, he was buried in his racing uniform. He remains a true legend in his native Italy, where he is commemorated by poems, songs, and statues.
