2024200 Years of the Annexation of Nicoya - Postcard

The postal issue “200 Years of the Annexation of Nicoya” consists of an aerogram, a piece of foldable paper, which showcases three illustrations by the national artist Doreen Bákit: the Temple of San Blas, a sabanero in his daily activities, and a sample of Nicoyan cuisine. The stamp printed on the aerogram features a fragment of the province of Guanacaste that once represented the Nicoya Party and a ceramic vessel. The issue is accompanied by the first-day postmark with the image of Leónidas Briceño Baltodano, a renowned journalist and politician who represented the Guanacaste province in the Congress for several periods.
