Kempt Tower, St. Ouen
Kempt Tower is located in St Ouen’s Bay on the west coast of the Island. It was built in 1834 as a defensive tower against the French invasion. As with many of the Martello Towers, it was constructed using Jersey granite. The ground floor was used to store weapons and ammunition, whilst the upper floor housed ten troops and their commanding officer.

La Rocco Tower, St. Brelade
Originally known as Fort Gordon, the tower stands towards the southern end of St Ouen’s Bay. La Rocco Tower was built between 1796-1801, the 23rd and last coastal tower in Jersey in the Conway design. It has been an iconic Jersey landmark for over two centuries, and cannot be missed when visiting the stunning bay.

Victoria Tower, St. Martin
Situated on a hill-top, Victoria Tower is surrounded by wooded slopes and cotils, overlooking Anne Port Bay, St Catherine’s Breakwater and Mont Orgueil Castle, with wonderful views of the Normandy coast. Built in 1837 to safeguard the approaches to the castle, this impressive fortification was one of the last Martello towers to be built in Jersey. Today it remains a stunning location for views of the La Déroute channel and a wide variety of wildlife.
Beautiful afternoons spent relaxing and enjoying the views across the bay.
La Tour de Vinde, St. Brelade
La Tour de Vinde, (aka Noirmont Tower) is a Martello tower that the British erected between 1808 and 1810 to command the approaches to St Aubin’s Bay, Jersey. The name comes from the Norse, where “vinde” means to tack or go about. Once a sailing vessel heading for St Aubin’s Bay had passed the point it could tack to approach the harbour.
The calm and tranquil seas featured in this print frame the ferry in a soft aqua as it passes by.
