A century of history of journalists, young and old. International Sports Press Association (AIPS) is the professional body representing international sports media, with more than 9,500 members worldwide, from major international newspapers, websites, periodicals, and broadcast channels on four continents. The first AIPS Congress was held on July 2, 1924, with 29 nations attending the event. AIPS is recognized by the International Olympic Committee and the major federations of every sport and country. The goal of AIPS is to strengthen cooperation among member associations in defending the independence and professional interest of members, to strengthen friendship, solidarity and common interests among sports journalists of all nations, and to ensure the best working conditions for members. Established in 1984, celebrated today with a special cancellation for the 40th anniversary of the San Marino Sports Press Association (ASSS), affiliated with AIPS with voting rights.
