Correos and Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre have jointly produced a new philatelic-numismatic product that will go on sale next September. It is a case dedicated to Philately and the history of navigation that incorporates 20 coins and three naval stamps with historical significance. The Collection consists of 20 special coins representing the history of navigation with images of the most relevant ships, from a Roman war birrene to the training ship Juan Sebastián Elcano or the armored frigate Numancia. All coins are made of non-precious metal, cupronickel, with a common reverse and obverse with the different ships in color. All coins have a face value of 1.50 euros.
Common reverse: legend History of navigation and easy 1.5 euro Obverse: In color. Images of the most representative ships of each era with a greater presence of Spanish ships.
The included stamps are:
-Bicentennial of the Royal Expedition of the Smallpox Vaccine, issued in 2004
-Ephemerides. Anniversary of the Birth of Blas de Lazo y Olavarrerta, issued in 2014
-Ephemerides. Centenary of the Submarine Weapon, issued in 2005
With this first issue, Correos and Philately launch a new annual collectible product that incorporates numismatic and philatelic elements, each year the theme will be different, this first one being the history of navigation.
