About Patas Monkey
The Patas monkey (Erythrocebus patas), also known as the Hussar monkey, is a ground-dwelling Old World monkey native to the semi-arid regions of West and East Africa. Recognized for its distinctive appearance, the Patas monkey has a slender build with long limbs and a reddish-brown coat. Key features include a white ventral side, a hairless face with a black muzzle, and a characteristic mustache-like line of white fur on each side of the face.
