The Emperor's Mosque in Plav
The Emperor's Mosque in Plav is one of the oldest mosques on the territory of Montenegro. The front part is made of wood with simple carvings, the ceiling is decorated with a rosette, while the door is carved in the form of flowers. A wooden minaret rises from the roof. Wood carvings and arabesques that decorate the interior make it so special.The mosque was a part of a wider complex, the so-called Dizdar's town, which has not been preserved, but still survived and testifies to the continuity of the religious life of Muslims in Plav. Today it is protected as a cultural monument.
