On April 17, 2021 (World Circus Day) the State Service of Digital Development under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic puts into circulation a Kyrgyz Express Post postage stamp: “Yurii Nikulin, actor and circus artist, 100th birth anniversary”.

The year 2021 marks 100 years since the birth of Yuri Nikulin (1921 - 1997) - an outstanding Russian circus artist, film actor and television presenter.

Yuri Nikulin was a professional circus artist and worked for about 50 years in the Moscow Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard as a clown and as the artistic director. From 1982 until his death, he was the executive director of the circus, which today bears his name.

Nikulin is also famous for his remarkable works in cinema. He fully revealed himself not only as an unsurpassed master of the comedy genre, but also as a tremendous dramatic actor, performing in films made by outstanding filmmakers.

The KEP stamp was designed on the basis of an original work of painter Elena Zaïka, who created a scenic portrait of Yuri Nikulin in 1998. This portrait captured the very last day of this great artist in the circus.

For this stamp, KEP also issues a postcard, which is used to realize a maximum card.
