About Underground Wagons

90 cents:
In December 1879, the guano (droppings) that comes from the birds (such as the bat and seabirds, the bubi and pelican) was discovered. This is how the Aruba Phosphate Company (APC) was founded.
Here you can see the locomotive that was used to transport the phosphate. The collected phosphate in the mines was brought in several wagons to its final destination.

130 cents:
It is very important to know that these mines were dug manually.
Here you can see how the phosphate is extracted by two workers. This was done manually because at that time there was no machine that could do this work.

220 cents:
A group of workers coming out of the Miralamar mine (place: Parke Arikok/San Fuego). You can also see the type of wagon that was used. They were pushed by hand to get out of the mine and then they went to another destination.

320 cents:
Here you can see a smaller locomotive that was used to transport the wagons and some workers when the work is completed after a long day.
