About Nature Protection National Park Biogradska Gora

The area of northeastern Montenegro, spanning 5,650 hectares, between the rivers Tara and Lim, in the central part of the Bjelasica Mountain, was proclaimed the National Park Biogradska Gora in 1952. Bordered by mountain peaks and ridges, intersected by streams and valleys, adorned with beautiful lakes, centuries-old forests and gentle meadows, it is a magnificent gift of nature. Its protection dates back to 1878, when this territory became the Prince's Reserve, a gift to the then ruler of Montenegro, Prince Nikola.Montenegro Post, within its issue Nature Protection - National Park Biogradska Gora, publishes a commemorative stamp and the First Day Cover. The author of the conceptual design is Adela Zejnilović, a graphic designer from Podgorica.
