About The 'Seven-Thousanders' of Kyrgyzstan

On february 21, 2020 the State Committee of Information Technology and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic puts into circulation a series of Kyrgyz Express Post postage stamps: “The “Seven-Thousanders” of Kyrgyzstan”.

Most of Kyrgyzstan's territory is mountainous. The “Seven-Thousanders” of the country are concentrated in a relatively small area:

Jengish Chokusu (7,439 m) is Kyrgyzstan's highest mountain. It is located in the mountains of the Tian Shan Range. This mountain is not so frequented by climbers due to its very difficult climbing routes and unpredictable weather conditions.

Lenin Peak (7,134 m) is a mountain of the Pamir Chon-Alay Range, located between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Due to its relatively easy routes, this mountain is considered to be the most "welcoming" and accessible even for novice climbers.

Khan Tengri (7,010 m) is located in the Tengri-Tag subrange of the Tian Shan mountains, situated on the borders of Kazakhstan, China and Kyrgyzstan. This is one of the most beautiful mountains, especially revered by the locals and called the "Lord of the Sky".

For this series, KEP also issues three postcards, which are used to realize three maximum cards.
