Edict of Milan is the legislation that brought the emperor Constantine the Great (ruler of the western part of the Roman Empire) and Licinius (the ruler of the eastern part of the Roman Empire) to Mediolan (now Milan) in 313 year. Edict of Milan interrupted the tercentenary persecution of Christians, taken property was restored and is allowed to publicly profess their faith, and that you do not suffer any consequences. Edict of Milan had its major precursor for Edict of Tolerance, which wasin 311 proclaimed by emperor Galerius in Nicomedia. It gives forgiveness to Christians who are, "following their own whims, were overwhelmed by the foolishness and did not obey the ancient customs." Edict of Milan, which is able to "everyone believes how his heart wants," Christianity receives steady support and point out that you can continue to develop, and only a few decades later (380 AD) under the emperor Theodosius the first major, became a state religion.
