About Montenegrin Art through Centuries

Montenegrin women’s shirt is a part of Montenegrin folk costume. It is made of fine cotton linen called “ćenar”, decorated with golden silk decoration known as “ošvice” around the neck, in the middle and at the bottom of the sleeve. It has a straight cut with oval neckline and an overlap slot, with long sleeves that had an insert under the armpits and on the side which provided for the necessary width of the shirt. The characteristic of this embroidery is that it isn't done directly on the shirt, but on the pieces of linen that were later sewed to the shirt. Within the edition Art in Montenegro through the centuries ''Montenegrin women's shirt'', Montenegro Post publishes the appropriate stamp and the Envelope on the first day. The author of the conceptual solution is Zoran Popović, a graphic designer from Podgorica.
