About 100 Years of Radio-Telegraph Station in Podgorica

The radio-telegraph station was installed in Podgorica in 1914 by the French, the war allies of Montenegro in World War I. It was a high-power station allowing communication with Italy and North Africa, and was meant to provide a radio link between France and Russia. It stopped functioning in January 1916 when the French dismantled it before the Austro-Hungarian invasion. The Montenegro Post is publishing a commemorative edition containing a postage stamp and a First Day envelope within the edition “100 Years of the Radio-Telegraph Station in Podgorica”. The author of the conceptual design is Zoran Popović, a graphic designer from Podgorica.
