2010World EXPO Shanghai - Miniature Sheet

The World Expo 2010 will be held in Shanghai China from May 1st to October 31st. It is the largest and most extensive World Exposition ever held. A total of 190 nations and 50 international institutions will be participating under the theme “Better City, Better Life”. The theme represents the common wish of the whole humankind for better living in future urban environments. Icelandic companies have been urged to participate in the Expo. It is estimated that 70 million guests from all over the world will attend the Exposition. Iceland‘s emphasis will be on the area of renewable energy, knowledge industry and tourism undir the heading “Clean energy, wholesome living“. Icelandic energy companies will in cooperation with engineering firms introduce the harnessing of renewable energy in Iceland and joint projects for the use of thermal power around the world.
