On July 7th 2017 the State Committee for Information Technology and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic puts into circulation a series of Kyrgyz Express Post postage stamps: “19th International Botanical Congress in Shenzhen (PRC)”.
Plants play a special role in the life of our planet. The very existence of the animal kingdom, including humans, would be impossible without the plant kingdom. This determines the importance of botany, which has as its object the scientific study of plants.
The International Botanical Congresses (IBCs) are world forums of scientists engaged in various areas of botanical research.
The IBCs are held every six years. The 19th International Botanical Congress is held in Shenzhen (PRC) from 23 to 29 July 2017.
The new issue of KEP stamps is dedicated to this event. This series includes two miniatures, which feature flowers especially popular in the East: peony and chrysanthemum.
