Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) - Austrian composer, was a representative of the Viennese classicism, together with Haydn and Beethoven. He composed numerous operas (“The Abduction from the Seraglio”, „Figaro’s Wedding”, „Don Juan”, „The Magic Flute”), symphonies, violin and piano concerts, piano and violin sonatas, numerous instrumental and chamber works, vocal - symphonic works and a „Requiem”.

The musical manifestations of 2006 will take place under the name of „Mozart Year”. A series of concerts and events will take place all over the world, the most significant being the Salzburg Festival, where operas signed by Mozart will be played for five weeks.

Ion C. Brătianu (1821-1891) - a liberal politician, he participated in the revolutionary events of 1848, in Paris and Bucharest. Together with Mihail Kogălniceanu, he had an important role in the creation of the modern Romanian state. In 1859, he was alongside of the first sovereign of the United Principalities, Alexandru Ioan Cuza, but in 1861 defected to the side of the sovereign’s adversaries, being the main initiator of the political and diplomatic actions aiming at bringing Prince Carol of Hohenzollern to the country’s throne.

During 1876 - 1888 he was Prime Minister. He is one of the founders of the Liberal National Party and he held the position of president of this party until 1891. The government led by Ion C. Brătianu initiated measures for consolidating the monarchy by enacting the law of succession to the throne (1880) and proclaiming the Kingdom of Romania (1881). In 1885 he became an honorary member of the Romanian Academy.

Grigore Moisil (1906 - 1973) - founder of the school of logics algebra and automata algebraic theory, he has carried out researches regarding the fields of polyvalent logic and of nuanced logics on which the designs of the first Romanian computers were based. He is considered one of the greatest Romanian mathematicians. Member of the Romanian Academy, the Academy of Sciences of Bologna and of the International Institute of Philosophy, Grigore Moisil created new methods of analyzing and synthesizing the abstract automata, as well as a structured theory on this subject. He contributed to the introduction and use of the first electronic calculation machines in our country and to the formation of the first generations of IT specialists.
