Expo Osaka
San Marino intends to assert its international identity and vision to promote tourism, culture, traditions, business, development opportunities and territory through its participation in the main event with universal significance in 2025, Expo Osaka, which will be held from 13 April to 13 October 2025.
The stamp depicts the First Tower and celebrates the ancient connection with Japan. It also recalls the theme of the San Marino pavilion, designed by the students of the University of San Marino and inspired by the morphology of Mount Titano: the ascent of the mountain widens the boundaries of sight and becomes a symbol of the expansion of horizons. The logo of the San Marino pavilion, shown on the strip of the mini-sheet, is the graphic synthesis of the two States: the outer red circle represents the Rising Sun, the three inner circles recall the towers and peaks of the mountain.
The theme of Expo 2025 Osaka is ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives’ and is intended to guide the international community's participation in designing a sustainable society that supports individuals' ideas of how they want to live. ‘Saving Lives’, ‘Empowering Lives’ and ‘Connecting Lives’ are the three sub-themes of the Expo and the San Marino Pavilion fits into the first ‘Saving Lives’.
