About History of Western Azerbaijan - The Last Iravan Khan

The series of stamps called "History of Western Azerbaijan" consists of 7 types of souvenir sheets was issued in 2024.

Western Azerbaijan was historically one of the oldest and most geographically diverse regions of Azerbaijan. It was strategically located along important caravan routes that connected the northern and southern parts of Azerbaijan, as well as the entire Caucasus and the Near East.

Currently, this land is recognized as Armenia, though its territory holds significant historical importance as part of Azerbaijan's ancestral lands. Numerous cultural artifacts, including ancient settlements, burial mounds, fortresses, palaces, defensive structures, caravanserais, bridges, mosques, and shrines, serve as enduring evidence of this historical connection.
