Human Senses

The fascinating series of stamps entitled Human Senses is being continued with a presentation of sight. An original, picturesque presentation of the sense of sight that can be understood by people not versed in medicine will stimulate the viewer to think about and seek a closer awareness of this sense in the human body. The organ of sight is composed anatomically of the eyeball (the ‘window to the soul’), the optic nerve and ancillary eye organs.

As a doctor and a professor of anatomy at the University of Maribor’s Faculty of Medicine, I am very pleased that this project of Pošta Slovenije is continuing. I am sure that these stamps will also prove informative to the general public and encourage them to find out more about the senses and how they work.

I hope that the project on the senses will continue and that in the future there will be even more projects that reveal the many mysteries of the human body.
