On April 30, 2024 the Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic puts into circulation a 2023 Kyrgyz Express Post postage stamp: "Year of The Dragon".
According to the traditional Chinese calendar, the New Year begins on February 10, 2024, and last until January 28, 2025. This year will be under the sign of the Green Wooden Dragon, which is the fifth animal sign of the Chinese zodiac. This sign is associated with luck, gaining power, wealth and freedom. The Dragon is the only mythological creature in the Chinese zodiac.
Unlike the European tradition, the Eastern Dragon does not have evil intentions, but, on the contrary, represents the harmony of Heaven and Earth. In Chinese culture, the Dragon symbolizes the positive principle Yang, and it is considered a totem of the Chinese nation.
In China, it is believed that people born in the Year of the Wooden Dragon enjoy universal love, these people are also characterized by curiosity and active creativity. The green color symbolizes renewal, rebirth, the beginning of a new life and a multitude of interesting events.
In the New Year of the Green Wooden Dragon, KEP wishes everyone good health, success, prosperity, happiness and a peaceful sky above the head.
