Israeli Security Agency
The Israeli Security Agency (ISA), also known as Shin Bet or Shabak, is Israel's internal security service. Established in 1948, shortly after the founding of the State of Israel, its primary mandate is to safeguard the country against terrorism, espionage, and other security threats originating from both within Israel and the Palestinian territories. Shin Bet operates under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister's Office and works closely with other Israeli intelligence agencies, such as the Mossad (Israel's external intelligence agency) and the Aman (Israel Defense Forces Military Intelligence Directorate). Shin Bet employs various methods, including intelligence gathering, surveillance, and counterterrorism operations, to fulfill its mission of protecting Israel's national security interests.
