The print run of the new stamp dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Valmiera Theatre is 50,000 copies and the print run of the special cover is 500 copies. The face value of the stamp is €1.65, corresponding to the postage of letter-post items in the weight class up to 20 grams within Latvia. The visual design of the stamp features the renovated facade of Valmiera Theatre, symbolizing the end of a significant phase and the beginning of a new century.

Valmiera Theatre was founded in 1923, with its inaugural performance on the 25th of November. Since its inception, when the then-young directors Oļģerts Kroders, Māra Ķimele, and Valentīns Maculēvičs worked here, Valmiera Theatre became an incubator of modern Latvian directing. Since then, interest in high-end experiments and contemporary theatrical forms has not abated in the theatre, along with attention to stage art in its most democratic manifestations. The theatre’s repertoire is based on modern interpretations of both foreign and Latvian classics and original dramatic art.
