About Thematic Personalised Stamps

Magyar Posta is continuing to issue thematic personalised stamps in 2023. The two latest stamps with a label are connected to the events to be held in Tata, the 96th Stamp Day, the 17th ELGYŰSZ stamp exhibition and the 21st TEMAFILA stamp exhibition. For each theme, 12,250 copies of the stamp with a label designed by the graphic artist Imre Benedek were produced. They may be purchased at Filaposta in Hungary and from Magyar Posta’s online store while stocks last.

17th ELGYŰSZ stamp exhibition – Tata Wild Goose Festival
The Tata Wild Goose Festival celebrates wild geese bringing the message of the distant northern tundra. At this special event for nature lovers, many thousands of wild geese create the spectacle and good mood. The 23rd Tata Wild Goose Festival will take place on 25 November 2023. The great majority of the wild geese entering Hungary use roughly 18 large gathering areas as regular resting grounds. Forty to fifty thousand birds can congregate at key locations, such as the Old Lake in Tata, to spend the night. Tata is the “City of Living Waters”, where the natural and built environments intertwine. The promenades encircling the lake provide the ideal surroundings for bird watching.

21st TEMAFILA stamp exhibition – Water, Music, Flower Festival
The Water, Music, Flower Festival, being held in Tata for the 28th time, will take place between 30 June and 2 July 2023. Hungary’s most popular bands, foreign performers, a fair and a colourful selection of cultural, floral, sports and children’s programmes will offer varied entertainment for visitors. The festival is an informal event embracing all the arts for friends and families, which aims to provide an unforgettable experience with its atmosphere and diversity. The Castle Courtyard and the tree-lined area in front of the Esterházy Riding Hall will be made into a pedestrian area with a fair and stands offering quality wares where stages will be erected for the region’s art ensembles, music and other shows. There will be activities for children befitting the surroundings in the Castle Courtyard and a fun fair for festival goers in the area next to the Riding Hall.
