Latvijas Pasts has made an addition to the series of stamps Latvian Manors: its second edition is dedicated to Hartmanis Manor at Kalnciema Street, Riga. The design of the new stamp in the form of a miniature painting was created by the artist Aleksejs Naumovs. The philatelic releases will first be available for purchase at the post offices of the largest cities, as well as in the e-shop of Latvijas Pasts https://veikals.pasts.lv/. The first day cancellation of the stamp is scheduled to take place at Riga post office No. 10, 41/43 Elizabetes Street, Riga, from 9 AM to 6 PM on the 31st of March 2023.
The second stamp in the series Latvian Manors features Hartmanis Manor, located at Kalnciema Street, Riga. The print run of the stamp is 50,000 copies, and its face value is €1.88, which corresponds to the postage of letter-post items in the weight class up to 20 grams to the countries in Group 12.
The release of the stamp is accompanied by the issue of a special cover with a print run of 500 copies. The stamp and the cover have been designed by the artist A. Naumovs, professor and former rector at the Art Academy of Latvia.
The Hartmanis Manor complex is one of the most beautiful elements of the unique cultural landscape of Kalnciema Street. Over the years, the property has been divided several times, but it has been now reunited in a single area. The manor complex includes the old and the new buildings, as well as auxiliary buildings. Part of the manor park has also been preserved. The old residential building was built around 1786 or shortly before. Hartmanis Manor has been placed on the statutory list of protected cultural monuments.
