About The Anniversaries of Great Personalities

On January 30, 2023 the Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic puts into circulation a series of 2022 Kyrgyz Express Post postage stamps: "The Anniversaries of Great Personalities".

2022 marked the anniversaries of some outstanding personalities who have made a huge contribution to the development of world science and culture: Alexander Scriabin, 150th birth anniversary, Molière, 400th birth anniversary, Roald Amundsen, 150th birth anniversary, Louis Pasteur, 200th birth anniversary. The new issue of KEP postage stamps is dedicated to the anniversaries of these great personalities.

Alexander Scriabin, 150th birth anniversary. Alexander Nikolayevich Skriabin (1872 - 1915) was a Russian composer, pianist, teacher, one of the representatives of symbolism in music. He was the first in the world to combine sound, color and light and introduced the concept of "light-music".

Molière, 400th birth anniversary. Molière (Poquelin), Jean-Baptiste (1622 - 1673) was an outstanding French comedian, theatrical figure, actor, stage art reformer and creator of French Baroque comedy.

Roald Amundsen, 150th birth anniversary. Roald Engelbregt Gravning Amundsen (1872 - 1928) was a Norwegian polar explorer. He was the first person to reach the South Pole (December 14, 1911) and to complete an Arctic Sea voyage around the world.

Louis Pasteur, 200th birth anniversary. Louis Pasteur (1822 - 1895) was a French chemist and microbiologist, member of the French Academy. He created the scientific foundations of vaccination, which provided an important breakthrough in medicine, especially in immunology.

For this series, KEP also issues four postcards, which are used to realize four maximum cards.
