About Coins of the Karabakh Khanate

The unique coins called Panahabadis were minted in 1794-1795, belonging to the era of Ibrahimkhalil Khan (1763-1806), the successor of Panahali Khan Javanshir (1748 - 1763), the founder of the Karabakh Khanate.

In the 18th-19th centuries, as in other Muslim states, the name of the mint corresponding to the place where they were minted was engraved on the coins of the Karabakh Khanate. This minting method indicated that the power was inherited from his father Ibrahimkhalil Khan. Panahabadis (1.48 – 1.89 g) were minted in 1794-1798, 1799-1800, full and half coins, respectively.
