World Bank - Azerbaijan - 30 years of Partnership

A postage stamp was issued on the occasion of the 30-year cooperation between the International Bank for Reconstruction and development (IIB), known as the World Bank, and the Republic of Azerbaijan. The World Bank is a global financial institution that provides financial assistance and technical advice to governments in order to reduce poverty and ensure equal welfare. Azerbaijan has been a member of the World Bank since 1992. Over the past 30 years, the World Bank has allocated funds to Azerbaijan to finance more than 50 projects. These projects cover education, health, pension and social protection, water and sanitation, energy, transport infrastructure, agriculture, irrigation and other areas.
