Victory Day
In response to the next military aggression of Armenia, the Patriotic War with counter – offensive operations began on September 2020, 27, in order to save our lands from occupation, fulfill the requirements of UN Security Council resolutions, return of Internally Displaced Persons to their native lands and restore justice. During 44 days of fighting, the brave Azerbaijani army liberated 5 cities, 4 settlements and 286 villages from occupation. The liberation of Shusha, the Pearl of Karabakh, dear to every Azerbaijani, from twenty-eight years of captivity on November 8 played a decisive role in the fate of the war. Taking into account the historical significance of the liberation of the city of Shusha from occupation, President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on the celebration of Victory Day on November 8, 2020, on December 3.
