The building consists of three separate units: the church, the bell tower and the bishop's palace. The bell tower dominates the entire view of the old town of Budva.Until 1828, when Budva diocese was formally abolished, the Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist served as a cathedral. In it, on a special northern altar, the famous holy object of the city of Budva, the icon "Madonna in Punta", is being preserved.
