A book tightly shut is but a block of paper
You guessed it! This is a Chinese proverb. Why? Because our new destination is once again China. Do you remember that in 2008 Beijing hosted the Summer Olympics? Unforgettable.
We merely opened the doors to China then – now let us go a step further. The ticket is provided by the Croatian Post in the form of a new stamp for the 2022 Winter Olympics. The new beauty for your unique collection tells stories about the Olympic games and their hosts. Beijing has become the only city in history to host both the Summer and the Winter Olympics. It is the largest city ever to host the world of winter sports.
The Games include 15 sports and as many as 78 competitions. A bit too much? Still, the world is changing, and so are the Games. Only 14 years have passed from 2008 to 2022. But when you compare the two – they seem to be completely different. Faster, Higher, Stronger – take this literally. There is less and less time for romance in life.
The summer in Beijing was wonderful – there is no doubt that the winter in Beijing will take it one step further. Open your eyes, take the stamp, travel to the enchanting, modern, traditional, raw, and gentle China.
For starters, the host has some sage advice for you: BE QUICK TO OPEN YOUR EYES, BUT SLOW TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH. And don't forget – A DAY WITHOUT LAUGHTER IS A DAY WASTED.
