On 27 August 2021, UNPA issues a personalized stamp sheet celebrating the “25th Anniversary of the CTBTO – Putting an end to nuclear explosions”. The sheet is composed of ten different € 1.00 denominated stamps.
The CTBTO marks 25 years of monitoring nuclear testing worldwide. The comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) bans all nuclear explosion, anywhere on Earth. Its unique verification regime, including 300+ monitoring facilities around the globe using four state-of-the-art technologies, makes sure no nuclear explosion can go undetected. Data from the system also contribute to a wide range of civil and scientific work, from tsunami warnings to research on climate change.
