About 150th Anniversary of To Vincas Cepinskis

Vincas Čepinskis is one of the most famous Lithuanian scientists, the pioneer of physics and physical chemistry. He majored in physics and chemistry at St. Petersburg University, after which he continued his career in Russia for several more years, while working as a laboratory assistant for D. Mendeleev. After returning to Lithuania in 1918 he was responsible for the restoration of Vilnius University. Since 1922 continued his scientific activity at Vytautas Magnus University (until 1930 it was called the University of Lithuania). Having started his career as a lecturer, he eventually became the head of one department, vice-rector, and at the end an honorary professor.
