The United Nations (UN) is the largest international organization based in New York (USA). It was founded in 1945, after the end of the Second World War, in order to prevent conflicts and strengthen international cooperation.
75 years ago, the Charter of the United Nations was adopted. Ever since, the founding Charter enshrines the mission of the organization based on the principles of achieving and improving peace and security, social progress, and protection of human rights.
Today, the United Nations gathers 193 member states. As one of the youngest members of the organization, Montenegro is committed to promotion of the principles of the UN Charter and actively contributes to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.On the occasion of marking the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, Montenegro post publishes a special issue of postage stamps. Edition “75 Years of the United Nations” contains a commemorative stamp and a First Day envelope.
