About Prominent Armenians. 100th Anniv. Of Alexander Arutiunian

On September 11th, 2020, one postage stamp dedicated to the theme “Prominent Armenians. 100th anniversary of Alexander Arutiunian” is put into circulation.

The postage stamp depicts the prominent Armenian composer, pianist, professor of Yerevan State Conservatory Alexander Arutiunian (1920-2012) against the background of musical notes.

Alexander Arutiunian’s famous Trumpet Concerto in A-flat major is the prominent Armenian composer's sixth major composition composed in 1949-1950. The New York Timesdaily called it a "brilliant and virtuoso showpiece". The Trumpet Concerto is well-known in the world and has been performed by a number of famous orchestras (including the London Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic).
