25 Years UNESCO World Heritage
About 25 Years UNESCO World Heritage
The criteria for registering a site on the UNESCO World Heritage List were established in 1972 in the "Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage". These criteria are therefore used by the Heritage Committee to assess the extraordinary universal value of a candidate. The old town of Luxembourg and the remains of its fortress have been on the list since December 17, 1994. To mark the 25th anniversary, the National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO is organizing, from 17/12/19 to 17 / 12/20, a series of interesting events.
