20th Anniversary of the EMS Cooperative

This year marks the 20th anniversary since the launch of EMS the Express Mail Service, founded on the 10th of September 1999 at the Beijing Congress of the Universal Postal Union Beijing Congress and which is now operational in some 200 countries and territories worldwide.

This global service is designed to meet customers' requirements at a competitive price, offering "priority handling", "end-to-end tracking" and available at virtually every post office around the world.

To mark this event MaltaPost, together with other EMS members, such as Côte d'Ivoire, Cyprus, Lebanon, Libya, Maldives, Mexico, Mongolia, Philippines, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, will release a joint stamp issue bearing a common theme including each country's flag, currency and language.
