About Historical Capitals of Armenia - Ani, Yerevan
These are the last two capitals of the Historical capitals of Armenia series and conclude the series which was started back in 2009. The first stamp depicts Ani city (X century A.D.) and pictures the Cathedral of Ani, which was built by the architect Trdat in 989-1001. The right part of the postage stamp depicts an old bowl and the map of Ani city. The second stamp depicts the present capital of Armenia, Yerevan (XX century A.D.) and pictures the panoramic view of the city. The left part of the postage stamp depicts the map of Yerevan city as well as a bowl used at the beginning of the 20th century.
