Children are the most vulnerable group of society. In the world, millions of children are subjected to brutal exploitation and discrimination. Millions are lost from sight, having become victims of trafficking, forced labor or are marginalized. Their basic social protection services are unavailable for them. Not only these children endure abuse, but most of them do not attend school, do not have access to health care and other services necessary for their growth. In the category of children, the most vulnerable are the youngest, who are totally dependent on adults and whose development and growth depend on how we provide them. All these children are growing up beyond the scope of development campaigns and often remain invisible in public debates, laws, statistics and news.
All these situations leave long-term consequences for the children, because at an early age is not provided access to and the exercise of those needs that are essential for their proper growth and development.
Poverty, social exclusion and the consequences of systemic discontinuities and weaknesses are three major and interrelated challenges to which we need to respond together and give children what they deserve.
If, at any level, does not focus attention on them, millions of children around the world, will remain trapped and forgotten, experiencing childhood neglected and abused, with terrible consequences for them, but also the future and the development of their countries.
