About 50 Years of Radio in Banjaluka

Radio of the Republic of Srpska, who inherited the tradition of former Radio Banjaluka, was established on February 2nd 967. In the first 25 years Radio informed citizens as regional Krajina radio, and in the second half of his life to public service as part of the Srpska Republic. Radio of the Republic of Srpska daily broadcasts 24 hours of programs from its own production. Radio waves covers the area of the Republic of Srpska, parts of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Croatian, and via the Internet people can listen to it worldwide.

Radio of Republic of Srpska found its place in the media of the Republic of Srpska and region. Radio broadcasted the news about the events in the Patriotic War when he contributed to the creation of the Republic of Srpska, as well as in 1969 when the earthquake struck Banjaluka. Reporting was active during natural disasters, in times of top results of our athletes, artists and businessmen, as well as all the past decades when they informed the audience on a daily basis, which was and still is the main task.

Professionalism, versatility in the use of press fit, sincere contact with listeners, excellent announcer-leader of journalistic prizes and awards and the best practical school for journalists in our region, features the work of this media. Radio was built and created by 250 employees over the past 50 years, each in its field, as many associates. It was built by the society, and most by the listeners, why it exists. Listeners tailored the radio by their interests and program scheme, which was reflection of the time and image of individual and social needs.

Radio is a classic, and February 2nd 1967, is one of the most important dates in the history of our journalism.
