Flora - Mushrooms
Mushrooms belong to the widespread living organisms on Earth, and the Romans have called them imperial food and food of gods. Pliny the Elder made the first classification of the poisonous and edible mushrooms.
Red fly agaric or Amanita muscaria is a poisonous mushroom that contains mescaline, muscimol and ibotenic acid. It has a characteristic red color hat with densely spaced white leaves. It grows during the summer and fall in various types of forests throughout Europe, Asia and North America. Fly agaric is very recognizable and characteristic species so the replacement with other species is uncommon.
Puffball mushroom or Lycoperdon perlatum is edible and tasty mushroom; the young mushrooms are used for the dish which meat is completely white. It is pumpkin-shaped and covered with tiny white spines that can be easily removed.
On the top of the mushroom there is a hole through which, when mature, the spores come out in the form of dust. It grows in various types of forests throughout Europe and North America.
