35th Anniversary of the Flight to the Moon
During the 60ies of the last century US has launched largely space-born program called Apollo, which had for its goal to land humans to the Moon. From mission to mission American astronauts were reaching appointed goal. Hard and large project did not passed without human victims. The first Apollo’s flight with human crew ended with tragically incident at launching. Three astronauts have died. Finally, on 16.7 1969 Apollo 11 was launched in which were the astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collins. After successful flight, vessel landed on the Moon surface. Neil Armstrong became the first man who landed on the Moon in 20.7.1969. His well-known sentence “That’s one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind. ” became one of the most quoted sentences in the history of human civilization.
Armstrong and the other astronaut Aldrin spent two days walking on the Moon surface, putting scientific instruments, taking photos and taking samples of the Moon’s surface.Landing in Pacific Ocean mission was successfully completed on 24.7.Program Apollo ended with mission Apollo 17 in December 1972.
