About 10th Anniversary of Dayton Agreement

General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina or the Dayton Agreement is a peace agreement reached at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton (Ohio, USA), on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s administration after the war 1992. – 1995.
The conference was held from 1-21 November 1995. The main participants were Alija Izetbegović, (president of Bosnia and Herzegovina), Franjo Tuđman (president of Croatia) and Slobodan Milošević (president of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia), main USA negotiator, ambassador Richard Holbrooke and the General Wesley Clark.

The agreement was officially signed in Elysee Palace in Paris on 14 December 1995.

Dayton Agreement was reached after the hard negotiations and it put to an end the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. And today’s political division and structure of governance in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been agreed as a part of the Dayton agreement.

Croatian Post Mostar has issued common postage stamp with BH Post and Post of Republic of Srpska in occasion of 10th anniversary of Dayton agreement, and first day cover and postmark. The stamp design is common for all tree operators and the difference is only in postal logotypes, shape and size of the stamp.
