The Post of Montenegro, on the occasion of its Day on October 2, is issuing a commemorative issue of postal stamps under the name «Stamp Day». A stamp is the symbol of post. It represents a method of payment for postal services but it is also one of the most important culturological symbols of any country. Stuck on a postal parcel, it travels the world carrying messages covering the culture and civilization of the country it originates from, its economic, scientific, and sports achievements, beauty spots, historical events, outstanding persons... In fact, a postal stamp is the ambassador of its country. It stays as heritage of generations to come and it is an important segment of tradition of any country. The commemorative issue «Stamp Day 2008» includes one stamp, First Day Cover, and the commemorative cancellation. The author of the conceptual design is Slađana Bajić, a graphical designer from Podgorica.
