100th Anniv. of Restoration of the State of Lithuania

100th anniversary of restoration of the State of Lithuania, which will be commemorated on the 16th of February of 2018, is an exclusive anniversary. It marks the start of the creation of history of independent democratic State of Lithuania, the first decisive step in the current modern state of Lithuania. The series of commemorative postage stamps “100 years of restoration of the State of Lithuania” captures the birth of the democratic state of Lithuania: from the first buds of the statehood, which manifested via the Lithuanian word preserved during years of oppression (with prohibition of the press abolished on 7 May 1904), till the formation of the idea of independent state in the Great Seimas of Vilnius (4-5 of December of 1905) and Vilnius Conference (18-22 of September of 1917).
