Technical Heritage - Paper Mill of Naujieji Verkiai

Paper Mill of Naujieji Verkiai is the oldest working paper mill in Lithuania. This is a very important historical monument. It was founded in 1690. The owner was Bishop Konstanty Kazimierz Brzostowski. Naujieji Verkiai had an exciting water ponds. The Paper Mill destroyed during the First World War. His renovation took more than a year. In 1953 factory have been reconstructed, built an another paper production machine. Little bit later built a third paper machine. In 1966 it began to do cigarette filter production.
