Romfilatelia, the company specialized in editing and trading Romanian postage stamps, releases the first part of a philatelic issue dedicated to some important celebrities from around the world.
The notable people to whom we dedicate the five postage stamps are:
Greta Garbo (1905 – 1990) – movie celebrity of the 20th century. Her movie roles from “Grand Hotel”, “Mata Hari” and “Anna Karenina” forever placed her in the golden gallery of world cinematography.
Henry Fonda (1905 – 1982) – founder of the “Fonda Dynasty” from the American cinematography, he was the actor that approached all movie genres, from western to drama, from historical movies to comedy.
Christian Dior (1905 – 1957) - famous fashion designer, creator of the fragrance that bears his name. He is the one that, through his creations, has given another face-value and mood to the international fashion.
George Valentin Bibescu (1880 – 1941) – illustrious Romanian personality of the first forty years of the last century, known world-wide. He was the president of the Romanian Auto-Club since its establishment and, at the same time, the president of the International Aeronautics Federation for eleven years.
Gheorghe Magheru (1804 – 1880) – army general and Romanian politician, was one of the leaders of the Romanian Revolution in 1848.
