Since 1975, ICEX Scholarships have accompanied Spain in its international transformation, becoming a key pillar of Spanish foreign trade.
In 2025, the Program celebrates 50 years of fostering the prosperity of Spanish companies through talent. It is one of ICEX's longest-running, most recognized, and appreciated programs and, above all, has the greatest impact on the internationalization of the Spanish economy.
Its success lies not only in its theoretical ability to enhance the human capital of our economy by providing knowledge and raising the qualification levels of our young people but also practically, by offering them professional opportunities and helping them secure stable, skilled, and quality jobs.
Over these five decades, more than 9,000 professionals have been trained through this Program. The excellence and quality of the Program are reflected both in the employability rate of its scholars: approximately 90% of former scholars find employment upon completing the scholarship, and the quality of employment: 86% receive permanent contracts with higher salaries once they enter the labor market.
Companies have requested more than 13,000 ICEX scholars, and 100% of them recommend the Program as a way to access qualified talent. In the case of international organizations, over the last decade, 76% of scholars have been employed after the scholarship, reaching 100% in organizations such as the United Nations or CAF.
ICEX Scholarships are a pillar in the future of changes in the foreign sector, and talent is part of the transformation within these ecosystems.
